Jamis Nova Race

Leave no city street, trail or country hilltop unexplored with Jamis’ Nova Race. It's equally suited for tackling your daily commute as trying your hand at a cross race. The 6061-aluminum frame is coupled with a carbon fork for agile handling. Plus, its hydro-formed top tube makes it comfortable to place on your shoulder for hopping barriers or climbing stairs. Racing or casual cruising, BB7 disc brakes provide excellent control in every weather condition and Shimano 10-speed shifting gives plenty of gears. Paired with a set of Alex rims, a Selle Royal saddle, and equipped with eyelets for racks and fenders, the Nova Race is one solid ride no matter where you explore.

Comments:

I was looking for a road bike that was trail ready, and this is it! No suspension to waste energy, lightweight wheels and frame for speed, great tires for mixed mode riding. I use this mainly for fitness riding, 20-40 miles per ride. I had a 11-34T 9 speed cassette put on instead of the stock 11-26T. Makes a big difference for my 225lb body getting up those hills. Top end gear ratio is a little low compared to a pure road bike, but this frame will still move at a fast pace. Weight with the 11-34 cassette, clipless pedals and 2 bottle brackets is 24.0 lbs. I may add cross brake handles as an extra safety measure when riding upright.

I've just switched from a roady to this cross bike. It is great for commuting, training, and have just started taking it on gravel roads and onto some easy mtb trails... im loving it.. so versatile and feels really stable when road riding
